My First Carving Competition!

Earlier this year I entered a woodcarving competition run by the Worshipful Company of Joiners and Ceilers held at the Building and Craft College. We were given the Joiners and Ceilers Coat of Arms to carve in one day, using a method called ‘incised’ carving (carving inside the line). It was a hot summer’s day and incredibly intense carving as quickly, yet as accurately as possible. I’m happy to say I came 1st place in the end and am hoping to auction the carving off later this summer at their annual charity event.
